Frequently asked questions

Read the FAQ below, or fill in our contact form to send us a message.

How can I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment by first completing the “Referral Form” tab at the top of the page, or the “Therapy Enrollment” button on the homepage, or call the office at (718) 363-0100 to speak with an intake coordinator who will gather the information needed to begin the intake process for therapy.
Should I give all my secrets away during the session?
You should be prepared to share your story and the reasons that led you to seek therapy. You will not be pressured by your therapist to share secrets if you are not comfortable or ready. However, it is best to be open, honest, and to trust the therapeutic journey.
What should I take to the therapy session?
There is nothing in particular you should bring unless your therapist asks you to bring something to discuss (for example, a therapy homework assignment or journal). You should be on time for your session and let your therapist know ahead of time if you have any scheduling conflicts.
Can I bring somebody with me for support?
You can bring a person with you for support, but due to privacy and confidentiality policies they are not able to go into your session with you. They can stay in the waiting room while you’re in session, though we encourage coming by yourself due to the small space capacity. Someone may join the session if they are relevant to your treatment and after discussion with the therapist.
